Looking good! BTW, are you keeping a consistent thickness at the ends of your braces to accomodate the joint into the linings, or just ending them at the linings? |

I shaped the ends of my braces on the "Robo sander" I set up on my drill press. Just fed the ends into it up to a predetermined stop to get the uniform thickness following the back radius. That way I can be assured that all the ends are the same thickness when it comes to cutting the mortices for them. Make sense? |

Hesh they look fine to me, good idea to give the first go on the back plate. The shape is the same as I use on my top braces. Now you've got to build one using a 'parabolic' X on the back as well. Once you use 'parabolic', there's no going back you know! ![]() Colin |

Hesh, did that set come from Steve at Colonial? I think I might have a set very close to that |

Hesh, your braces are awesome, i'll probably try this on my next 2 guitars or traditional on one and parabolic on the second so i can refine my traditional bracing and experiment on parabolic as well. Very convincing! Serge |
